Odd Man Out's status

I have gotten feedback from my beta readers and all have loved it. Luckily for me, half of my beta readers were english majors. One of my readers elevated her status to proofreader. I have made a few more fixes and edits, The story is out for a second review. In the meantime, my friend Emma who runs AWTCoverDesigns.com made me an amazing cover which I can't wait to release with my story. In the previous entry I said May for the publication. However I feel I can have this out before the end of February. This is all so exciting.

The short story comes first

So it would seem I have more to say about my short story than I do about The Shadowed. I worked with an amazing editor Alex to polish and fix up my short story Odd Man Out. We went back and forth on emails and texts before we had a fine-looking product. Now I've got about six beta readers invested into it. The first person's response was that 'I needed to make a series.' So hopefully I get more positive feedback and can move on to the next steps. In the meantime I'm working with the lovely Ms. Rider at AWTCoverDesigns who will be designing my cover. I am so excited about this. I hope before May, I will be a published author.

Mmmm tasty publication.

As the months go by...

Well it's been a bit since I've updated last. Progress on The Shadowed has not changed. Unfortunately I am still on chapter five. However I have completed my short story, now title Explosive Times. It has already been through the first revision with an editor. I have sent in the second revision and am eagerly waiting for the results. It has also passed the husband test as he deemed it not bad. He even laughed at a few of the jokes in the story. I enjoyed writing the short story. Perhaps that will be the first thing I publish and not The Shadowed. I plan to get back to work on my novella. Perhaps the next time I update here, I will have an update on my novella.

Hey an update

So the progress is slow on The Shadowed. I am on the fifth chapter of the ten chapter novella. I was doing well and chugging along. Then I found a little blurb I had written at work. It intrigued me. Now I suddenly have three pages written based on said blurb. So The Shadowed is on a tiny break while I work on the currently titled Magic Galore short story. I am hoping the short story is only about ten to fifteen pages. That is my current update.

And now an actual post

As said in my bio I am currently working on my first novella. I have written much in the past although it was mainly fanfiction or short stories (head over to sample story if you'd like to read one). I have a few other original stories in the works but 'The Shadowed' is my main focus right now. It has been completed which means phase one of the book is done. The next phase, a phase I am learning I am not fond of, is editing. The book hovers around 88 pages, I have reviewed 38 of them. Hopefully I can make my way through it in a swift amount of time. Then comes phase three which is more editing just not by me. My goal is to have it published by 2017. I will try to have regular updates here.
